Pierre Bernard Jr., a holder of a degree from the Parsons School of Design in New York City, is a graphic designer, illustrator, and comedian who has charmed his fans with his many works in print and television graphics. His works have appeared in some of the leading media, including the Newsweek Magazine, Prudential Securities, and NBC Universal. Some of his works include the Late Night with Conan O’Brien on which he hosts the segment “Pierre Bernard’s Recliner of Rage.”
Bonnie Watson Coleman
Bonnie, who is a graduate of Thomas Edison State College, is the first black woman in Congress from New Jersey. Born in 1945, she and her husband, William, live in Ewing Township. A member of the US Representative for New Jersey’s 12th congressional district since 2015, she was formerly a member of the New Jersey General Assembly from 1998 to 2015 for the 15th Legislative District.
Hollis Alphonso Copeland
This retired American basketball player was born in Trenton, New Jersey on December 20, 1955. He, however, spent his early life in Ewing Township, New Jersey where he played basketball in high school (Ewing High School) and college at Rutgers University.
Stevenson Nathaniel Garrison
Even though he was born on September 12, 1986, in Trenton, New Jersey, this free agent American professional baseball pitcher grew up in Ewing before his career took him to play for the New York Yankees – the Major League Baseball team.
William Mershon Lanning
The Republican Party member who died on February 16, 1912, aged 63, was born in Ewing. He was a member of the New Jersey’s 4th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives between 1903 and 1904. He resigned in 1904 to become a judge on United States District Court for the District of New Jersey after which May 18, 1909, he became a circuit judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit until he died.
Major General Glenn K. Rieth
Maj. Gen. Rieth, a former commander of the New Jersey’s National Guard, and his wife Linda, reside in Ewing. The General was born on November 27, 1957, and served as the commander of the Air National Guard and New Jersey Army Adjutant General of New Jersey. He resigned in December 2011 after he was involved in a sex scandal with aid.
Albert C. Wagner
The late Wagner, who was born in 1911, served as the director of the New Jersey Department of Corrections for six years until 1973. A graduate of the Villanova and the Universities of Pennsylvania, his career started at the New Jersey Department of Corrections in 1936 before joining the Bordentown Reformatory in Bordentown, New Jersey. Wagner, who used to live in Ewing Township, New Jersey, died of a heart attack on June 18, 1987, in Portsmouth, England while on vacation, at age 76.
