Bridgewater Commons

The 16-year-old mall holds Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and more than 160 specialty shops like Build-A-Bear, there you can create your custom stuffed plushies. New in the fall of 2004 is a Lego shop featuring classic construction toys, a Clarks shoe store, and AT&T Wireless. Additionally, Borders Books & Music, Best Buy and TJMaxx and much more are direct across from the mall on Commons Way.

Bridgewater contains a large number of communities and areas, most of which don’t have formally defined borders. They include:

Bradley Gardens: Located in southwest Bridgewater, bordered by Raritan to the east and Branchburg to the west. This is one of the oldest living areas in Bridgewater but also contains a few modern improvements as well as a business area along the Old York.

North Branch (eastern part): Most of the Branch is in Branchburg, but a part stretches to the east of the North Branch in Bridgewater Township.

Finderne: Found in the southeast Bridgewater. Finderne is a diverse area with older traditional neighborhoods, modern communities, residential buildings near the Raritan River/Manville boundary, as well as business and technical areas.

Thomae Park: In the extreme eastern part of Bridgewater, bordering Bound Brook and Middlesex. One of their central attractions is Thomae Park, which has a park, basketball field, baseball field, and hiking path.

Green Knoll: Situated in the heart of Bridgewater, this residential center with a large number of significant commercial developments and government offices, including the Bridgewater Commons Mall, a massive office park, the municipal building, police station, and a high school.

Country Club Area: The area is often referred to as the “Country Club-Meadow Road” or similar names. Some also refer to it as “the Van Holten area” named for the elementary school established there.
